PolyAcrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (PAGE) was first practiced in glass tubes.
It has been conveniently employed for separation of native (enzyme) or denatured proteins. It is useful for smaller volumes of radio labeled samples as well as larger volumes. 2D PAGE employs capillary tubes for the 1st isoelectricfocusing.
